Project Chimps provides lifelong care to chimpanzees retired from medical research. With the recent arrival of 9 chimps from a research center at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, a total of 99 chimpanzees live in this 230+ acre sanctuary, in the Blue Ridge Mountains of north Georgia. (A hundred more chimps are expected to join them over the next several years!) Most of these chimps spent 20 years in research labs, in studies designed to improve human health. I believe they deserve the best life we can offer.
Caring for chimpanzees is expensive--a year of care for one chimp costs almost $30,000, and many will live into their sixties. I'm doing my part to share their story and help raise awareness and funds. I hope you'll help me hit my fundraising goal by learning more and making a donation today. Got an extra minute? Take the personality quiz and find out which of the newest chimps you match with. Then make a donation in their honor! Thank you.
