URGENT: Nursery needed for rescued baby chimpanzees right away. Join the Nursery Support Team to help build it.
As poachers brutally kill more chimpanzee families and steal the defenseless newborns to be sold as exotic pets for profit, more and more orphaned baby chimps are left desperate for rescue and medical care. There are now so many of them in need that it’s difficult for us to accept them all — our facilities have become insufficient. And if we are at capacity, no more lives can be saved — and poachers can continue their exploits.
We won’t turn babies away — will you help us build a nursery for those that need it?
When you join our Nursery Support Team with a donation of any amount, you’ll be one of the kind-hearted sponsors that makes it possible for us to take in babies traumatized by poachers, and give them the comfort and care they need to make it through another day. You’ll receive a digital Nursery Support Team badge to share on social media if you wish, along with a J.A.C.K. Primate Sanctuary Certificate of Membership as thanks for your generous gift.
This nursery enclosure will not only give our babies shelter and quick access to our veterinary clinic, but offer them a play area to build the muscles that they need to survive in the wild, plus connect them to each other and the forest.
And every time you see a new image or video of a baby chimp sheltered in our nursery, you’ll know it was made possible by you, and other compassionate people like you.
About J.A.C.K. Primate Sanctuary, founded by Franck Chantereau and Roxane Couttenier.
For the founders of J.A.C.K., every life counts. For more than 20 years, the pair has been working on the frontlines of primate conservation in Africa’s Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where their efforts to save innocent victims of the wildlife trade quite literally put their lives on the line.
This life-saving work is arduous, but they still move forward: two-thirds of the primates living in the DRC are facing extinction, with populations plummeting as a result of poaching, the bushmeat and exotic pet trade, and unrelenting habitat loss. And it’s only gotten worse since the start of the pandemic.
